Ivan Mihaljevic & Side Effects album, Counterclockwise's is a really wonderful album.
The band in general has a good beat and the Ivan has a soothing voice. The genre is rock and the songs all have a meaning behind them. "Build Your Destiny" is about building your destiny in your life. Look at your life and make something of it. The band follows the style of the 1980-1990's rock era.
It is highly enjoyable music. It is nice to understand the lyrics of this rock band. It is easy listening and very enjoyable to listen to.
The music is not overwhelming and stressful. It is truly enjoyable to hear a band with a lot of instrumental. It is the kind of music you can play at party and just relax with friends. Just sit back and listen to Ivan's voice tell a story.
“What Is Underneath" is a powerful song about people who have passed in and out of your life. The lyrics, "Vanity builds on a heap of selfish lies, its all they are left with is what is underneath." The song explains peoples true nature, from being fake to who they really are, liars and users.
The song Eclipse tells a story about the mind. The beginning makes you think of a fairy tale land of unicorns and rainbows, then the music changes to a little darker and rougher. The fairy tale ends when the vocals began. The darkness is inside the mind where the world is cold and cruel. The person in the story is trying to escape the hell they are in. All of us go through a similar type of feeling in bad times. When things are not going well and all you feel is despair and you are depressed. You question your life. The story portrays that feeling well. The name of the song, Eclipse is perfect. It is a dark cloud over your sunny day.
"I am" tells a story of discovery, discovering who you are. Not what others want you to be. It is great to hear the instrumental rifts and the lyrics telling a story.
